What does a compromise agreement do?It is a legally binding agreement over the termination of your employment which will set out the terms on which you will leave, including severence pay, payment in lieu of notice and other issues. By signing the agreement you waive your rights to take the employer to an Employment Tribunal. Why do I need independent legal advice?It is important that you seek independent legal advice before signing a compromise agreement, and also a legal requirement. Once you sign the agreement you will not be able to make a claim against your employer at the Employment Tribunal.
