Principal solicitor Martin Phillips qualified as a solicitor in 1981.

He has worked as an associate and partner in five law firms and ran his own practice in East London and Essex for 10 years.

Martin is an experienced specialist in all aspects of employment and workplace law and has represented hundreds of employers and employees at Employment Tribunals. He has a wealth of experience dealing with employment law and workplace disputes.

During his career to date he has also represented clients in criminal matters including murder and manslaughter trials and substantial fraud cases.

He has been involved in the running of a number of businesses outside the legal profession and founded Lawrite HR in 1997. With his business experience he is able to see problems from the point of view of his business clients and is experienced in providing commercial solutions to legal issues.

For the last 10 years the Lawrite HR service for employers has included an employment law manual written by Martin, and document templates for contracts of employment and staff handbooks, with over 45,000 copies sold.
